Built-Ins Copied From A Magazine Page

Proof that a page out of a magazine is a perfectly good set of plans.

The customer arrived with an advertisement torn out of a magazine. We used it as the drawing and built the cabinetry into their living room.

This one started as an advertisement. The customer liked the cabinetry in the photograph, brought the page in, and asked whether it could be built. It could.

Arched openings, fluted pilasters and fitted shelving run along the wall and continue around the room, painted rather than stained so the woodwork sits with the trim already in the house. A glazed display cabinet and a run of base cupboards close the far end.

We say we will work from a sketch on a napkin or blueprints from an architect. This is what that looks like in practice.
